Dr. William Sutherland

William Sutherland is a professor of Conservation Biology at the University of Cambridge and a member of the Cambridge Conservation Initiative. His research focuses on applying ecological data and models to understand conservation issues. Professor Sutherland is heavily involved in exploring a range of ways to integrate conservation science in policy, especially through the development of evidence-based conservation. Professor Sutherland helped establish Conservation Evidence, an online database of scientific studies that describe the effects of conservation interventions, as well as summaries of all studies related to a specific conservation action.
